Dr. Andre Moreni Lopes received his B.S. in Biology (2004) from São Paulo State University (UNESP, Brazil), and his M.S. (2006) and Ph.D. (2010) in Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Technology (2010) from the University of São Paulo (USP, Brazil). His Ph.D. thesis focused on downstream purification of biomolecules, mainly using liquid-liquid extraction. During the last 6 years, he has been working on nanobiotechnology, particularly regarding drug delivery systems and the incorporation of therapeutics in nanostructures. Dr. Lopes was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of São Paulo (2011-2015), and in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA, USA) under the supervision of Prof. Daniel T. Kamei (2015-2016). Currently, Dr. Lopes is Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Bioprocess and Biotechnology at the State University of São Paulo (Araraquara, Brazil).
Andre Moreni Lopes Research interests are (i) nanobiotechnology - nanostructured systems for drug administration biotechnology (drug delivery systems) - study the stability and viability of biomolecules nanoencapsulated in biomaterials. (ii) applied microbiology - biotechnological processes with emphasis on upstream and downstream processes (protein purification) and application of biomolecules related to human health.
