Biography

Dr. Ivan Gentile was born in Castellammare di Stabia (Naples, Italy) on 15.07.1972. He is married with two children. He obtained a degree in Medicine on 25.07.1996 at "Seconda Università di Napoli" with a grade of 110/110 cum laude. From February 1999 to June 1999 he was guest fellow at the Institute of Pathology in Cologne (Germany). On 24.10.2000, he specialized in Infectious Diseases at the University of Naples "Federico II" with maximum marks (70/70 cum laude). From January 2001 to November 2007 he worked as Medical Doctor at the Department of Infectious Diseases – at University of Naples "Federico II". He is Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases at University of Naples “Federico II” since academic year 2011/2012. He is author of several papers most of them published on International journals with an overall Impact factor of about 300. Total number of citation is 1305 with a H-index of 23 (source Scopus). He is member of the Italian Society of Infective and Tropical Diseases (SIMIT), and Italian Group for Study of Cryoglobulin (GISC). He was former member of the Expert panel on Public Health of the European Society for Translational Medicine (EUSTM). In July 2013 he won “Fellowship Program 2013” prize as the principal investigator of the project named “Clinical and pharmacological management of HBV-positive pregnant women” financed with the sum of 25,000 € by Gilead Sciences. In July 2015 he won “Fellowship Program 2015” prize as the principal investigator of the project named “Prospective, observational study on the multidisciplinary management of HCV patients with B cell lymphoproliferative malignancies” financed with the sum of 15,000 € by Gilead Sciences. In June 2016 he won “Fellowship Program 2016” prize as the principal investigator of the project named “A digital-based novel strategy for a better self-consciousness of risk factors and evaluation of epidemiology of chronic viral hepatitis” financed with the sum of 20,000 € by Gilead Sciences.
