Dr. Sanja A. Farkas works as a Clinical Chemist in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Örebro University hospital, Sweden. She completed her MSc. degree in molecular biology in 2006 and Licentiate degree in Chemistry in 2009. In 2014, she earned her PhD from Örebro University focusing on signature patterns of DNA methylation in the placenta and various cancers. She lectures in the School of Medical Sciences at Örebro University with focus on genetics and epigenetics and has successfully supervised 5 candidates for MSc theses. Currently, she has a part-time post-doctoral position at the Dept. of Laboratory Medicine focusing on DNA methylation in endometrial and colorectal cancer.
Dr. Sanja A. Farkas research interests include DNA methylation in a gynecological cancers; folate metabolism and DNA methylation; colorectal cancer.
