My name is Johanna Andrea Gutierrez Vargas I am biologist, MSc. in Basic Biomedical Sciences and PhD. in Neurosciences. I am currently a teacher / researcher at Remington University Corporation in the city of Medellin, Colombia. I belong to the Neuroscience research group of Antioquia and the research group of the elderly GISAM. Work advising research projects with Medicine and Nursing students programs. My research is focused on neurodegenerative and cerebrovascular diseases. I have worked with pharmacological and genetic therapy in cerebral stroke in animal models, performing molecular, histological and behavioral analysis. I evaluated signaling cascades after therapy, as well as histopathological characterization of brain slices and behavioral analysis in animals such as learning and memory, neurological and motor assessments.
