Dr. Sanjay Gokhale is known for his work in Drug Trials and Clinical Research Projects. He completed residency in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology from B. J Wadia Institute of Child Health. There he worked as Registrar in Pediatrics and Neonatology for almost two years. During this period he had opportunity to examine about 10,000 neonates and more than 3000 patients in Indoor Section. With such massive experience he joined Rajhans Hospital- Emergency Clinic- at Saphale about 150 kilometers north of Mumbai city. Though a doctor with very astute clinical sense; he continued his research activities. He received Scholarship from ‘International Bio Pharmaceutical Association’ for a formal training in ‘Clinical Research and Drug Trials’ (2008), and he was nominated by Global Health Council [USA] for ‘International Best Practice Award’ for Social and Academic work He has authored numerous publications in various national and international journals, and is also an active Reviewer for several reputed journals. His research interests include Drug Trials and Clinical Research, Neonatal Blood Transfusion and Genetic Defects, Birth Defects. He has showcased his work in various International Conferences. Recently with his co-workers he completed various Epidemiological and Active Interventional Research Projects about Vitamin-D. These appeared in different International Journals. Dr. Sanjay Gokhale research interests are The incidence of Low Birth Weight babies is pretty high in developing countries and India is no exception. In his area of work; home deliveries and LBW babies posed a very different problem. These babies succumb to infections early with high mortality. Group Beta Streptococcal infections accounted for almost third of all cases of Neonatal Sepsis. Parental compliance being very poor, other treatment modalities showed poor success. With his co-workers he developed a new strategy to prevent GBS infections in newborn babies. He used Injection Benzathine Penicillin as antibiotic of choice. It DID work and the mortality rates dropped very low. Recently with his co-workers he completed various Epidemiological and Active Interventional Research Projects about Vitamin-D. These appeared in different International Journals. He is working presently about Neonatal Blood Transfusion and Maternal Blood to her Newborn Baby.
