GGuilherme Fernandes is a PhD holder from São Paulo State University (Brazil), in the organic chemistry department in the Institute of Chemistry. He studied Medicinal Chemistry and his area of expertise is organic snthesis of antituberculosis and anti-infective agents, mainly concerning N-oxide-containing compounds. He investigates new N-oxide derivative with activitiy against MDR tuberculosis. Guilherme is also familiarized with microbiological assays for screening of compounds against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Regarding his research experience, he is an author of several papers in peer-review journals, such as European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Current Medicinal Chesmitry, Molecules, Nutrients, Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, and Critical Reviews in Analytical Chemistry. Also, he often participates in several symposiums by presenting posters or oral presentations.
