I am graduated in Pharmacy by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 2002, Brazil), specialist in Industrial Pharmacy by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 2005, Brazil), Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences (M.Sc.) by the Graduation Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGCF-UFRGS, 2006, Brazil) and PhD in Natural Sciences by the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (2015, Germany). I was Professor of Pharmacotechnique and Cosmetology in the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 2007-2008), Assistant of the Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology in the University of Düsseldorf (HHU Düsseldorf, 2012-2014), and Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology, Cosmetology and Homeopathy in the West University of Santa Catarina (UNOESC, 2016). I have experience in Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy, with emphasis in research, development, production, and quality control of medicines and dosage forms, acting on the following main topics: technological development of solid dosage forms; geriatric and pediatric formulations and administration devices; technological development of phytomedicines; quality control of dosage forms, drugs and raw materials; pharmaceutical analysis; development and evaluation of taste-masking technologies; pharmacognosy and natural products; and statistical data analysis (DoE, MVDA). I am a member of the Pharmaceutical Solid State Research Cluster (PSSRC), International Association of Pharmaceutical Technology (APV), and the Brazilian Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (ABCF). At the moment, I am working as Post-Doctorate Research Fellow at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS, Brazil) in the Graduation Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology.
Gustavo Freire Petrovick Research Interests are development of patient centric formulations, dosage forms and administration/dosing devices (for pediatric and geriatric patients) and evaluation of pharmacological activities and development of dosage forms based on natural products.
