Dr. MD Balakumaran is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, D.G. Vaishnav College, affiliated to University of Madras, Chennai, India. He holds his PhD degree in Applied Microbiology-Botany from the Centre for Advanced Studies in Botany, University of Madras, India. Dr. MD Balakumaran has over 10 years of research experience in the field of Microbiology, Biotechnology and Nanobiotechnology. To his credit, he has so far published 22 research articles in internationally peer reviewed journals and 18 abstracts in National and International Conferences. Importantly, three of his research papers were featured in the ScienceDirect Top 25 List of Hottest Articles, Elsevier B.V., The Netherlands. Also, he is serving as a reviewer for many reputed journals including African Journal of Biotechnology, American Journal of Biotechnology and Medical Research, Applied Materials Today, Current Biotechnology, Current Nanomaterials, Journal of Cluster Science, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Journal of Nanomaterials, Journal of Nanostructure in Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering C, Medicinal Plant Research and 3 Biotech.
