Dr. Sabzar Ahmad Dar is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Higher Education, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, India. After completing his master’s degree in zoology with distinction in 2009, he has been qualified prestigious NET (National Eligibility Test, a competitive examination conducted for the recruitment of Assistant Professors in Indian Universities) with JRF (Junior Research Fellowship, given to top 3% of the NET qualifying candidates) to pursue his higher studies. He joined University of Kashmir, India as a research scholar and completed his doctorate degree in the subject of zoology from the faculty of biological Sciences in 2016. He has been actively engaged in research and teaching. Dr. Dar has diverse research interests which mainly include phytochemistry, diabetology, toxicology, fish biochemistry and fish genetics. Dr. Dar has become an emerging scientist in the field of phytochemistry and toxicology, and has published his research findings in the form of manuscripts, book chapters, and review articles with many international publishing houses of scientific reputation. Dr Dar has recently published a book entitled “Medicinal value of Stinging Neetle” with Germany based publishing house, in which he had provided insights regarding the traditional uses of the plant against diabetes and microbial infections supported by his reputed research findings. Dr. Dar has been facilitated with many awards and is also an active member of many associations like Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) and Kashmir University Alumni Association (KUAA).
Sabzar Ahmad Dar's Research Interests are Herbal drug discovery (Phytochemicals active against diabetes, cancer and microbial infections), Toxicology (assessing the safety index of active phytochemicals), fish biochemistry and fish toxicology.
