Dr. Cigdem Karaaslan is currently a research assistant in Ankara University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department. She graduated from the same university in 2005 as a pharmacist. She has been working as a research assistant in her department since 2005. She got her master of science degree in 2008 and she earned her PhD in 2014, from Pharmaceutical Chemistry, at Ankara University. In her thesis work, she designed and synthesized mono/ di amidino anilino benzimidazole derivatives as antiparasit and anticancer agents. During her PhD, she worked on indole derivatives as well at Cardiff University in Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department. She is also interested in other types of various benzimidazole and indole derivatives. She has several international and national publications in reputable scientific journals and she has also many congress and symposiums poster presentations.
Dr. Cigdem Karaaslan is interested in design, synthesis and structural elucidation of new heterocyclic compounds.
