Dr. Gabriel Cuatrecasas was Born in Barcelona and he holds his graduate degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (UB Hospital Clínic i Provincial) in 1997. He finished after his medical speciality in Family and Community Medicine in Joan XXIII Universitary Hospital and in Primary Care centres related with. In 2004 he realized also an MBA at ESADE Business School in Barcelona focused in Integrated Health Services Management. Since 2005 he performs his medical work at the public Primary Care Centre EAP Sarrià in Barcelona and due to a growing interest in Diabetology and Metabolism fields, he joined the same year the CPEN Endocrinology Group in Barcelona (Centro Médico Teknon and Sagrada Familia Hospitals) where he’s currently working. Moreover he is an active member and training manager of the RedGDPS Foundation (Group for the Study of Diabetes in Primary Health Care Spain). Within the frame of this Foundation he has accomplished the elaboration of several Diabetology Guidelines and decision Algorithms. He belongs also to the GEDAPS group CAMFIC (Catalan Society in Family Community Medicine) and he’s a member of the Spanish Diabetes Society (SED) and Catalan Society (SCD). For his knowledge he has been called to participate on several Public Heath Consultancies and advisory Pharmaceutical boards. During the last year he has been invited to collaborate at the Diabeweb internet platform, a Pharmaceutical initiative that evaluates Internet and Apps diabetes-centered in order to provide patient advice. He has organised and presented many National and International Seminars and Conferences, and participated as a Principal Investigator (IP) or subIP in International Clinical Trials mainly in Diabetology and Pneumology. Finally he is a part-time Professor of Postgraduate master in Cares and Surgical principles in podiatry (University of Barcelona) and teaches Primary Care to medicine students of the International University of Catalonia (UIC).
