Dr. Salihu Ibrahim Isma’il, a senior lecturer with the Department of Biochemistry, Federal University Dutse, Nigeria, did receive his Bachelor degree in Biochemistry, Master of Science in Biochemistry and obtained his Doctorate degree in Clinical Biochemistry from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria. His research interest is finding new therapeutic targets for the management of diabetes and its complications. He has worked as a lecturer in college of education and Northwest University in Kano, Nigeria. His special interest is finding alternative medication for diabetes and cancer from the rich medicinal plants from Northern part of Nigeria. Presently he has developed two herbal drugs for the management of Diabetes and Cancer hypoxia and acidemia, which are presently undergoing registration with National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control in Nigeria. Farther to his full-time teaching career, he opened an Institute for Advanced Biochemical Research and Analysis (IFABRA) which analyses metabolic profile of patients within the context of their ever-changing hormonal, metabolic and body chemistry and physiology under the influence disease, food, drugs and environmental contaminants. He is a member of Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He has published research papers and review articles in peer reviewed international journals. Dr. Salihu has participated and presented in many national, international seminars and conferences.
