Lt Colonel Dr Abul Kalam Azad, classified pediatric anesthesiologist of Bangladesh army at present deployed in MINURSO, Western Sahara. He is medical doctor, graduated MBBS from Sylhet Osmany Medical College in 1993. He joined Bangladesh Army in 1995, served various field hospitals as well as specialized hospitals of Bangladesh Army in different capacities. Then he obtained diploma in anesthesiology (DA) in 2003 from University of Dhaka, FCPS (Fellowship) degree from Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons (BCPS) and stood first for that he awarded Gold medal (Quader-Samad Merit Award) from Bangladesh Society of Anesthesiologists (BSA). He underwent post-fellowship training from Bangladesh Shishu (Children) Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne as well as from Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney. He is an associate member of Society of Pediatric Anesthesia New Zealand & Australia (SPANZA) and member of Asian Society of Pediatric Anesthesia (ASPA). He is an Advisory Board member & Reviewer of Journal of Anesthesia & Critical Care, Editors of Acta Medica Intrnational and Biomedical Journal of Science & Technology and reviewer of APICARE Journal. He wrote several professional articles in various national and international journals. He also presented several papers in national & international professional society congress. His area of interest is pediatric anesthesia and pain management.
