Prof. Barbara E. Clasen has completed her PhD specialized in Toxicological Biochemistry from Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). Her postdoctoral studies included different scientific aspects related to her specialization field with giving especial interest to researches of toxicology, ecotoxicology and enviromenmental biomarkers. She is a member of Brazilian Society of Ecotoxicology (ECOTOX) and of Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). She also published more than 20 papers in reputed journals. Now she is Professor at UERGS and a Head of Envrironmental Toxicology Department. She is engaged in research on the effects of pollution on humans and animals and solutions to pollution in aquatic and terrestrial environments.

Dr. Barbara Clasen's Reseqarch interests are pollution sources, transport, deposition, accumulation, metals, pesticides, aquatic pollution, soil pollution, sewage, sediment pollution, effects of pollutants on humans, fish, earthworm environmental and molecular toxicology applied to pollution research.
