Biography

Raghuvara Yendluri obtained his PhD in biomedical engineering from Louisiana Tech University, Ruston Louisiana USA. He holds a Master’s degree in molecular sciences & nanotechnology and a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmaceutical sciences. His doctorate dissertation was on his pioneering work to develop pharmaceutical and medical applications of natural clay material called halloysite nanotubes. He published high impact factor research articles by employing halloysite clay as a tablet excipient, sustained drug release agent, nanotubular template for protein immobilization and for anti-cancer drug delivery. For his research achievements, he was awarded the “Graduate PhD student award for Outstanding Research” from Biomedical engineering department, Louisiana Tech University for the year 2016-2017. His primary research focus is in the development of diagnostics and drug delivery systems using natural nanomaterials and demonstrating their effectiveness in animal models. He also interested in the utilization of natural/synthetic biocompatible polyelectrolytes to prepare nanoparticles for drug delivery. Also, to develop multi-layered nanoparticles coated with positively charged polyelectrolytes like DEAEDextran, PLB to enhance cellular uptake.
