Dr. Gaurav Parekh is a Scientist at Glanbia Nutritionals Inc., a nutraceutical company focusing on healthy nutritional supplements not only for sports athletes but also for infants and elderly population. He is a drug/protein delivery scientist with a PhD and Masters in biomedical engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. His research experience of 7 years has been in various kinds of drug delivery systems/formulations both in micro and nano scale. His dissertation was focused on development of nano drug delivery formulation, micelles, liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles for targeted delivery of very low soluble anti-cancer drugs, by using FDA approved biopolymers and polyelectrolytes. He has a good experience in pharmacokinetic studies in various animal models, and good exposure to various kinds of biomaterials. His additional experience has been in fabrication of bone implantable drug delivery systems from bioceramic materials. His current role at Glanbia Nutritionals Inc. has diversified his research experience in development of nutraceutical formulations from pilot scale to manufacturing scale, following the FDA regulations. This experience has also given him the opportunity to file 2 patents, which are currently under review. He has published his research work in various peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Gaurav Parekh's Research interests are Drug/protein/nutritional supplements delivery systems, nano-encapsulation technology, colloidal systems, surface functionalization for biosensors, nano-carrier development for imaging modalities and theranostics, approached for scaling up nano and micro-encapsulation techniques.
