Dr. Atul Sharma has worked out in the field of pharmacy, analytical chemistry and biosensors. Dr. Sharma leverages has more than 7 years of academic and research experiences. He has completed his Doctoral Degree from BITS Pilani University at Goa Campus under Joint Supervision from BITS Pilani Goa Campus, India and University of Perpignan Via Domitia, France. He worked as Assistant Professor at School of Pharamceutical Sciences, MVN University, Haryana, India, as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus under various national and international projects funded by ICAR, World Bank etc. In start of his journey, he has completed his M. Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry; 2011), and joined in academia as Assistant Professor and worked in Pharmacy Institutions at Karnal (Shri Ram College of Pharmacy) and Dehradun (Siddhartha Institute of Pharmacy), India. During his doctoral research career, he has built several new sensing platform based on biosensing principle for detection of small molecules (mycotoxin) and antibiotics residual in food and beverages. Currently, he is a Research Fellow in Electrochemistry Group, Monash University, Australia where he will be involved in his area of Analytical Chemistry and Biosensing. In his research career, he has developed a broad range of aptasensing techniques based on optical, electrochemical and piezoelectric principles for contaminants detection. He is the recipient of ERASMUS MUNDUS (EUPHRATES) Doctoral Fellowship (2014-15) from BITS Pilani India. He has authored over 12 publications in national and international journals. He has participated and attended more than 10 national and international conferences.
Dr. Atul Sharma's Research Interests are Development of Aptasensing Platform for small molecule detection, Nanomaterials, Biosensors, Aptasensors, Fluorescence, Antibiotic residual detection and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
