Dr. Manoharan Saravanan is a toxicologist. He graduated B.Sc Degree (2000) from University of Madras, Chennai, and M.Sc (2005) and Ph.D (2012) Degrees from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. He has more than 12 years’ research experience in Toxicological studies, and published 50 research articles (52 total impact factor) in relation to the ecotoxicological effects of pharmaceutical drugs, nanoparticles, endocrine disrupting chemicals, pesticides, metals, etc., He has been using different types of Biomarkers such as hematological, biochemical, hormonal, ionoregulatory, reproductive, immunological and anti-oxidative parameters in both marine and freshwater fish species. Among his publications, 2 research articles were listed in the most cited articles in top 25 by SCOPUS (during 2011 – 2016, and 2012 - 2017). He is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Marine Science, Incheon National University (INU), South Korea. He had already worked as a Lecturer (contract 2012 - 2013) in the Department of Zoology, Periyar University, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. And then he moved to the Department of Biological Environment, Kangwon National University (KNU), Chuncheon, South Korea for his first Postdoctoral Research (2014 - 2016). He has been awarded CSIR-Senior Research Fellow, Gold Medal for Best Ph.D Thesis, Young Research Scholar, UNU Fellowship, FCT Postdoctoral Fellowship, TWAS Fellowship, Anil Agarwal Fellowship, UGC-Project Fellow, etc., He attended more than 50 scientific meetings such as conferences, symposia, workshops, and seminars at National and International level. He has worked in several projects in UGC and CSIR in India, and KNU and INU in South Korea. He has been reviewing many research articles for the peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Manoharan Saravanan research interests are Monitoring and Risk Assessment of Pharmaceutical Drugs, Nanomaterials, Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals, Pesticides and Metals on Aquatic Ecosystem, and Fish species using various types of Biomarkers. In addition, He is focussing on Marine Ecosystem and Organisms Responses to Xenobiotics, and also Aquaculture and Fisheries.
