Dr. Nazir M Khan received his PhD in Life Science from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai India in 2012. He is currently working as Faculty (Instructor) at Department of Orthopaedics, School of Medicine, Emory University, Atlanta, USA. As my major research interest include Pharmacology & Toxicology of Natural Products, Dr. Khan’s is looking to nutraceuticals or nutritional/dietary supplement or phytochemicals or plant extracts to develop a safer and more cost-effective therapeutic approach for the treatment and prevention of inflammatory and degenerative joint diseases, mainly Osteoarthritis with a goal to translate the nutraceuticals into pharmaceuticals. Dr. Khan’s research focus on dissecting the molecular signature of signal transduction pathways activated in response to inflammatory conditions and to identify therapeutic targets to suppress chondrocyte apoptosis, oxidative stress, inflammatory response and catabolic and anabolic pathways in osteoarthritis. Further, as an academic musculoskeletal research scientist with keen interest in stem cells (iPSCs) and high throughput genomics, epigenomic and transcriptomics, his research involved understanding the molecular effect of reprogramming of diseased skeletal tissues such as cartilage and chondrocytes on the epigenetic alteration inherent to disease progression. Dr. Khan is involved in editorial capacity in many SCI indexed in journals.
Dr. Mohd Nazir Khan research interests include Phamacology, Natural Products, Toxicology, Gene regulation, High throughput Sequencing, Transcriptomics, Epigenomics, Osteoarthritis, Chondrocytes Biology, Redox Biology, Cell Biology, iPSCs.
