Dr. Gbolabo Olaitan Onasanya is a lecturer with department of Animal Science, Federal University Dutse, Nigeria. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria on 22nd of April, 1979. He had B. Agric. (1997; Animal Breeding and Genetics), M. Agric., (2011; Animal Breeding and Molecular Genetics) and PhD (2018; Animal Biotechnology and Genomics) all from Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria. He teaches courses in Animal Breeding and genetics, Animal biotechnology, Animal molecular genetics, Animal genomics and proteomics. He was a visiting PhD Research Fellow to Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai, India. He was a beneficiary of Research and Training Fellowship for Developing Country Scientists (RTFD-CS) fellowship, INSA-JRD TATA fellowship and Government of Nigeria Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) PhD Research grant among others. He has over 40 published peer reviewed articles and conference papers both in local and international scholarly journals and conference proceedings. He had presented scholarly article in many scientific conferences. He is a member of editorial board and reviewer to many local and international reputable peer reviewed journals. He is a member of Genetic Society of Nigeria (GSN), Biotechnology of Nigeria (BSN), Nigerian Society for Animal Production (NSAP), Animal Science Association of Nigeria (ASAN) and other professional associations.
Dr. Gbolabo Olaitan Onasanya current research concern focuses on genomics of Heat Shock Factors and Heat Shock Protein genes in tropical Bovine, Ovine and Caprine breeds.
