Assistant Professor Dr. Tawheed Ahmad Shafi, Ph. D, was born in 1986. He completed his BVSc and AH from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir in 2011 and later on joined Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, from where he completed his MVSc and PhD. During his Master’s Degree (MVSc) he got the opportunity to work on “Evaluation of therapeutic potential of herbal therapy in bovine mastitis” the study was planned to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo effectiveness of selected herbs in the treatment and prevention of mastitis in dairy cows. His PhD work was entitled “Molecular epidemiology of staphylococcal mastitis in dairy animals”. In September, 2015 he was appointed as Assistant Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), Parbhani, Maharashtra, India.
Dr. Tawheed Ahmad Shafi is actively involved in the field of Veterinary Medicine (Small and large animal clinical practice), and his research is mainly focussed on mastitis in cattle and buffaloe, particularly molecular epidemiology, prevention and control, and evaluation of antibiotic resistance of mastitis pathogens.
