Biography

Professor. Adel Abushoffa is a professor of pharmaceutical analysis at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Tripoli. He has got his Bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Tripoli Libya, a Master’s degree in pharmaceutical analysis from the School of Pharmacy, University of Bradford UK, Ph.D. In a pharmaceutical analysis from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Liege Belgium. Ex. Chairman of the Libyan Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences (LSPS). Member of the Belgian Pharmaceutical Sciences, Arab pharmacists Union. An associate professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Applied Sciences Amman Jordan,2008-2009, a research fellow at The School of Pharmacy, University of Toledo Ohio, USA 2014. Vice Minister of Health, in the Libyan Transitional Government 2012 and Advisor at the Prime Ministry for health issues 2014-2016. Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Tripoli 2016-2017. Chairman of Practicing committee of the Libyan Medicine tender 2019.


Research Interest

Professor Adel Abushoffa, Director of Pharmaceutical Research Unit, Faculty of Pharmacy, the University of Tripoli working on projects related to the use of chromatographic, electrochemical, and electrophoresis techniques in drug separation, determination of APIs, impurities and other related substances. Also conducting shared research projects with the University of Jordan, Almansora, South Valley, Zagazige and Tanta, Egypt. In addition to the research carried out both in Bradford UK and Liege Be. concentrated on chiral separation and chiral purity of drugs by HPLC and CE. Electrochemical determination of trace amounts of hormones and other combinations. Stability indicating methods using chromatographic, electrophoretic and Stripping Voltammetry.
