Biography

Dr. Avinaba Mukherjee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology at Charuchandra College, University of Calcutta, India. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Zoology at the University of Calcutta, India and a Master of Science in Zoology with specialization in Immunology at Calcutta University, India. He earned a Ph.D. in Cytogenetics and Molecular Biology at the Department of Zoology, Kalyani University, India. He has done his Postdoctoral degree in Medicinal Chemistry Division, Pharmaceutical Technology at Jadavpur University. Till date, he has published 25 Research Articles in peer-reviewed International Journals. He has been awarded CSIR-UGC NET in Life Science. He has earned the ‘Travel Award’ for AMS Awards, 2015 held in New Zealand. He has served as a Reviewer of the journal entitled 'Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine’ and 'Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology'. He is a Lifetime member of Zoological Society, Kolkata, India, and also of Indian Science Congress.


Research Interest

Dr. Avinaba Mukherjee is interested in fields of research are as Cancer Biology, Drug development, Pharmaceutical Intervention, Toxicology, Medicinal Chemistry, and related Cellular signaling. His present research focuses on searching for bioactive compounds type flavonoids and its nanoparticle synthesis to use against human chronic diseases like- cancer, diabetes, and also in combating toxicity induced by environmental pollutants.
