Dr. Adel Ghorani-Azam is an assistant professor in Pharmacology and Toxicology in the Department of Clinical Toxicology and Forensic Medicine at the Urmia University of Medical Science, Iran. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Razi University of Kermanshah, Iran in 2006, and a Master's degree in Biochemistry at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran in 2011. Dr. Ghorani-Azam earned his Ph.D. in Medical Toxicology at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Iran in 2019. Then, he was awarded an academic staff position in 2020 and founded a Clinical Toxicology Laboratory in Urmia University of Medical Science, Iran. He is now a member of the Toxicology Association in Iran.
Dr. Adel Ghorani-Azam is interested in the fields of modeling pharmacology, nanoanalytical toxicology, and peptide pharmacology. He is currently working on developing analytical methods for easy and accurate detection of drugs in biological samples, identification, and purification of natural toxins as well as peptide drug discovery (antimicrobial peptides).
