Dr. Yathish HIrenallur Maheshwarappa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding, Veterinary College, KVAFSU, Hebbal, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. He is a Graduate in BVSc&AH from Veterinary College, KVAFSU, Hebbal, Bengaluru in the year 2007. He did Master’s in Animal Genetics and Breeding from National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal, Haryana, India in the year 2010 and Ph.D. from Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India in the year 2015. He is guiding masters and doctoral scholars of the Animal Genetics and Breeding discipline. Also, he is a member of the advisory committee of many students to monitor their research programs. He is actively involved in the research activities of the postgraduate programs of various departments in the college.
Dr. Yathish HIrenallur Maheshwarappa's research interests include Genomics of farm animals and poultry; Genetics and/ Or Genomics of Productive and Reproductive Traits in Livestock and Poultry; Genetics of disease resistance; Gene expression and bioinformatics; Genetic Markers; Genetics of Male and Female Infertility; Phenotypic and Genetic Characterization of lesser-known germplasms.
