Fernando Cordido was born in A Coruña, Spain. He qualified in Medicine and Surgery (mark: excellent) and obtained his PhD (summa cum laude) at the Univer¬sity of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, in 1980 and 1990, respectively. He made his Specialization in Endocrinology and Nutrition at the Fundacion Jimenez Diaz, Autonoma University, Madrid, Spain during 1982-1985. Since 1986 he works as specialist in endocrinology and nutrition in the Spanish National Health Service, since 1990 at the Hospital A Coruña, Spain. He works as Associate Professor since 1989, as Professor at the University of A Coruña since 1999. During 1992 he was Honorary Visiting Registrar at the Department of Medicine, University Hospital of Wales, UK. Presently he is Professor of Endocrinology and Nutrition, University of A Coruña, Spain and Specialist in Endocrinology and Nutrition, Hospital A Coruña, A Coruña, Spain.
