Dr. Murshid received a Ph.D. in Dental Science, the field of specialization was Functional recovery & reconstruction science from University of Okayama in 2007. He began his career as general dentist at the University of Sana'a in 2001, and held research position at University of Tohoku, School of dentistry, Division of Orthodontics in 2007. Dr. Murshid joined the University of Thamar in 2010. He had a background in osteocyte biology to understand its role during mechanical loading and its role in the modeling and remodeling of bone tissue by studying their calcium response, elastic modulus, cytoskeleton roles and focal adhesion functions. He had experience with microscopes particularly confocal lazer scanning microscopy (Zeiss and Olympus), images processing, three dimensional imaged reconstructions, calcium imaging for living cells, immunofluorescent staining, immunohistochemistry staining, vivo and in-vitro (2D and 3D cell cultured system). The impact to study the influence of the force on the bone cells, may help to understand the mechanism of force in maintaining and remodeling of bone tissue, which may give insight into the tissue engineering and regeneration. He is a member of Yemeni Dental Society.
Epidemiological studies to estimate the prevalence of the malocclusion risk factors; Tooth movement and bone remodeling; Clinical outcome of cases treated with orthodontics.
