Dr. Shewikar Farrag is an Egyptian Associate Professor of Paediatric Nursing and is currently working as acting Vice Dean for postgraduate studies and scientific research at the Faculty of Nursing, Umm Al-Qura University, KSA. She has been working for The National Gaurd Health Affairs, and King Abdullah Medical City before.
Dr. Farrag graduated from the University of Sheffield, UK and obtained her Ph.D. in 2005. Since that time, Dr. Farrag, obtained various international fellowships (USA, Sweden, Australia, Nigeria, Netherland, and Germany) for her contribution to the local and international activities and services for young people with special needs and for those with mental health problems. In 2010 Dr. Farrag was awarded Mansoura University Research Excellence Award for her 1st and 2nd international peer-reviewed articles published in international journals.
Dr. Farrag used to teach paediatric nursing, child psychology, woman and child psychology, human growth and development through life span, and community health nursing.
She is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Nursing Scholarship, and is an Editorial Board Member of the Middle East Journal of Nursing. She has been a peer reviewer for The Arab World Version of Kozier and Erb's Fundamentals of Nursing Text Book, and an Editorial Board Member in the Middle East Journal of Nursing since 2006. Recently she has been selected as an external reviewer for evaluating bachelor nursing program, at Batterji College, 2014- 2015. Dr Farrag also worked as an Associate Editor for Umm Al-Qura Medical Journal, published by Umm Al-Qura University.
