Dr. Naila Akhtar is currently working as Associate Professor, Head of Department of Anaesthesia at Dera Ghazi Khan Medical College in Pakistan. She has 15 years of work experience in all specialities of Aneasthesia at Pakistan’s largest medical university, King Edward Medical University, Lahore. Throughout her professional career she has been involved in teaching, training and mentoring of residents and anaesthestists. She supervised evaluation programs of postgraduates and undergraduates. She had the opportunity to serve as Finance secretary and Vice President of Pakistan Society of Anaesthesiologists-Lahore Chapter. She has been actively involved in organizing and conducting different workshops such as peripheral nerve block, difficult airway, ECG etc. Her research project was accepted for Malaysian Society of Anaesthesia Awards for oral presentation in 12th Asian & Oceanic Society of Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Medicine Congress 2013, Kuching Malaysia. Most of her research projects have been published and presented in international conferences and a few are in progress.
