Mr Hemal Charadva (BDS, MFDS RCSEd) studied at the prestigious University of Birmingham where he gained his BDS in 2013.
Following on from this he completed his foundation training at Carillon Dental Care in Loughborough UK. Keen to gain further surgical training he took a Dental Core Training post in the Maxillofacial Unit at the Royal Derby Hospital. Further to improving his surgical and medical management he was heavily involved in audit. As a result of his involvement he went on to develop a robust set of Antibiotic guidelines for the department. In addition to this Mr Charadva was also the lead author for a case report which highlighted the importance of rehabilitation of vulnerable patients which was published by the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This was presented at the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Annual Scientific Meeting in 2015. Having gained such valuable experience he returned to Carillon Dental Care as Clinical Lead.
In his current role as Clinical Lead, Mr Charadva routinely reviews current literature and carries out clinical audits in order to provide the best possible in evidence based dentistry. Passionate about education, he regularly organising teaching on various subjects varying from caries management to clinical photography and oral medicine.
With a rapidly progressing knowledge base, Mr Charadve believes keeping up to date with existing literature is paramount to effective clinical practice to ensure our patients are treated to the best of our abilities. His aim for the future is to gain further experience as an educational supervisor for Dental Foundation Trainees as well as fulfilling his academic of acquiring specialist training and research opportunities in Prosthodontics.
