Dr. Arianna Carolina Rosa is a Lecturer in Pharmacology within the Department of Scienza e Tecnologia del Farmaco, University of Turin, Turin, Italy, since the 2006. She received an MSc in Pharmacy from the University of Turin, Turin, Italy (2003) and earned a PhD in Drug Science from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Turin, Turin, Italy (2007). Since her doctoral work, her work focused on studying receptors as new pharmacological targets. In particular, she was involved in projects probing the effects of celecoxib distinct from COX-2 inhibition; the neuroprotective effects of PPARgamma agonists on in vivo and in vitro models of ischemic injury. More recently, she focused on the kidney as the endorgan of metabolic disease such as diabetes. The interest in renoprotective pharmacological strategies led her to gain insight into the pathophysiological role of histamine receptors in the kidney. In the 2011, she joined the COST Action BM0806 Working Group 2 - Physiological and pathophysiological importance of the H4R systems as an Early Stage Researcher, performing an STSM at the University of Durham, where she returned as Research Fellow (December the 29th 2015 to July the 1st 2016). During these past several years, she also started intense activity on drug information coordinating the monthly section “Dipositivi medici in evidenza” of the on-line fortnightly newsletter “SIFFarmaci in evidenza” for the Italian Society of Pharmacology (http://www.sifweb.org), and being the team leader of a working group for the fulfillment of a Drug Handbook 2012.
