Dr. Angelo Hooker completed his basis medical education at the University of Amsterdam, the Academic Medical Center (AMC). Thereafter he worked as a resident at the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the teaching hospital Medical Centrum Alkmaar (MCA) and the Academic Medical Center (AMC). He followed the Obstetrics & Gynaecology residency at the Free university medical center and the Saint Lucas Andreas Hospital (SLAZ), currently named OLVG West. Since 2013 he joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Zaans Medical Center (ZMC) as a gynecologist. He is connected to the Free University medical center and OLVG West as a clinical researcher. He participated and conducted several clinical randomized trials. He is the principal investigator of a multicenter, randomized clinical trial in the prevention of intrauterine adhesions in relation with pregnancy. Furthermore, he participates in several randomized controlled trails in the ZMC as the local study coordinator. He actively participates in teaching medical students and residents. Besides, he is interested in quality of health care and is the safety officer of the ZMC. The current research of Dr Angelo Hooker focusses on intra-uterine adhesion formation in pregnant women. He performed several systematic reviews on intra-uterine adhesions formation following miscarriage and termination of pregnancy (TOP). Furthermore, he showed in a systematic review, that the prevalence of intra-uterine adhesions is significantly lower when women with retained products of conception (RPOC) are treated by hysteroscopy compared to dilatation and curettage (D&). In his clinical practice, he provides consultative care at the ZMC.
