Biography

Dr. Shanthi Ganesan (DVM, MSc, PhD.) is Postdoctoral Research Associate in Animal Science Department at Iowa State University, USA. Shanthi accomplished her Ph.D. in Toxicology from Iowa State University (USA), MSc from Bharathidasan University (India) and DVM from Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (India). She received a prestigious International Fellowship from American Association of University Women for her research. Shanthi’s research focus is investigating how chemotherapeutic drugs or ovotoxic chemical cause damage to the ovary, and developing therapies to protect the ovary from such exposures. This research is not only of benefit for the female patients themselves, but is also aimed at minimizing damage to female eggs, which could potentially result in negative consequences for the offspring. Ultimately, the goal of her research is to improve reproductive health of girls and women. She has outstanding records of scientific and academic accomplishments with multiple research publications in highly prestigious journals and various presentations in both national and international conferences.
