Dr. Niaz Ali is currently working as Professor of Pharmacology in Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Khyber Medical University, Pakistan since 22nd March, 2016. He has served in capacity of Associate Professor Pharmacology in the same institute from February 2011 to 21st March, 2016. He has completed his BSc. Honors in Pharmacy from Department of Pharmacy, University of Peshawar in year 1997. He started his career with Abbott Labs. Karachi in Production & Quality Control department in year 1997. Later He joined Abbott Labs. Karachi as Territory Manager and served for almost 5 years. He joined then Dr. Raza Pharma Peshawar as Quality Assurance Pharmacist. In year 2001 to 2003, he worked as Hospital Pharmacist with Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia. Later he joined University of Malakand as lecturer Pharmacology & Therapeutics cum Clinical Pharmacy from May 2004 to January 2011. In August, 2010, he completed his PhD in Pharmacy from University of Peshawar, Pakistan. Pakistan Medical & Dental Council recognized his doctorate degree in field of Pharmacology.

He has continued his professional development and completed, Certificate in Health Professions education followed by Master in Health Professions Education (MHPE) from Khyber Medical University, Peshawar in 2015.

He has more than 50 research publications in Clinical Pharmacy and Basic Medical Sciences. He has completed several research projects awarded by Directorate of Science & Technology, Peshawar as well as Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

Based on his contributions, the HEC awarded him Best University Teacher Award in the Year 2013.

He has organized and facilitated several conferences and workshops. He has been working as Chairman Program Team Members for M. Phil and PhD programs since 2011. He is member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, USA.
