Dr. Zhong Liu received a Master’s degree in Cell Biology from the Southern Medical University and a PhD in Cell Biology from the Sun Yat-Sen University, both at Guangzhou, China. Dr. Liu then undertook post-doctoral training at Children’s Research Institute at Medical College of Wisconsin (Milwaukee, WI, USA) before joining the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her research expertise is on neural stem cells, pluripotent stem cells, and neural differentiation, neurodegeneration, and brain tumors. She has published more than 10 original research articles in journals including Stem Cell Reports, Stem Cells, PLos ONE, Stem Cell Research, Stem Cell and Development, Human Molecular Genetics, Blood, Hepatology.
