Dr. Matthew Halquist is an Assistant professor of Pharmaceutics at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy and Director of the Bioanalytical Core Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and has over nineteen years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and academia, developing analytical tools to answer quantitative problems. His expertise has been with bioanalytical methodology using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry for small and large molecule quantitative analysis for pharmacokinetics and toxicokinetics. He continues to publish in this arena and also has interests in biorelevant in vitro drug release, specifically with implants, and also studying electronic cigarette toxicity. Dr. Halquist has published more than 60 peer reviewed papers and abstracts.
