Dr. Javed has completed his postdoctoral training from University of Iowa, USA and Ph.D. in Toxicology from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, India. Currently Dr. Javed is serving as Medical research specialist in the Department of Anatomy at United Arab Emirates (UAE) University, UAE. His research investigates the pharmacological and molecular mechanisms involved the pathogenesis and protection/prevention of Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease using relevant animal models. Additionally, he is also involved in elucidating the mechanisms of α-synuclein protein aggregation and deposition link to the progression of Parkinson's disease. Dr. Javed's long term research goals is to unraveling the mysteries of neurodegenerative diseases and to find out the new treatments for these incurable diseases. He has published more than 25 peer reviewed research articles in scientific journals of international reputes and almost 15 scientific abstracts in the national and international Neurosciences-related meetings and conferences.
