Dr. Maria Porres-Martinez (PhD) is Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology in Department of Pharmacology (Pharmacognosy and Experimental Pharmacology) at Complutense University of Madrid and drug safety specialist at Medical Department of Pharmaceutical industry studying adverse effects of drugs. She has a Ph.D in Pharmacy with Complutense University of Madrid and Alcala University. She has a Scientist magister in Toxicology. Her research area is Neuroprotective activity of natural products with antioxidant properties. She is researcher member of the Research Group "Pharmacology of Natural products". Scientifically, she has been interested in developing new drug for prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Her research interest focus on the pharmacology of natural products and particularly, on the study of the neuroprotective activities of compounds found in vegetal species, based on their antioxidant properties. She has numerous publications in prestigious peer reviewed journals and various presentations in national and international conferences.
