Dr. Miguel Oliveira (PhD) is an Auxiliary Researcher in the Department of Biology and in the Center for Environmental and Marine Studies of the Aveiro University, Portugal. He has a MSc in Toxicology and PhD in Biology, having received training as a visiting scholar in different national and international Universities (e.g. University Oslo and Autonomous University of Barcelona). He started his research studying effects of mixtures of contaminants and mechanisms of toxicity at different levels of biological organization. He has a vast list of publications, that include highlight papers, in different prestigious journals. Currently he is focusing on the biological effects of nanomaterials and pharmaceuticals individually and combined using biomarkers at different levels of biological organization.
