Dr. Teresa Letra Mateus graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She began to work in public health with livestock and then meat inspection and food safety. She has done a Master Degree in Food Safety and a PhD in Parasitology/Public Health, and other post graduate studies in Health Education and Promotion, and Health Communication. She is assistant professor since 2001. Currently she teaches food safety and technology and parasitology. She is a researcher at ISPUP (Public Health Institute of the University of Porto, Portugal) and at CECAV-UTAD (Animal and Veterinary Research Centre of the University of Tras-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Portugal). She is very interested about One Health – especially the interface between wildlife, domestic animals and human.
