Biography

Dr. Rossana Garcia-Fernandez (PhD) is Adjunct Professor at the Department of Physics and Chemistry of Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida, USA. She accomplished his PhD in Biochemistry from University of Havana (Cuba) and she received research training as a DAAD grantee at University of Hamburg (Germany). Scientifically, she has been interested in structure function relationship studies of small peptides and toxins from marine invertebrates and the obtainment of new variants that could modulate the activity of molecules involved in inflammation and infection processes. Academically, she has been teaching for over 20 years and she has supervised the research projects of several undergraduate and graduate students. She has outstanding records of scientific and academic accomplishments with numerous publications in highly prestigious journals and various presentations in both national and international conferences.
