Professor Othon Papadopoulos is an Emeritus Professor of Plastic Surgery in Athens University Medical School as of 2015. He has served as Full Professor and Chairman of Plastic Surgical Unit at Natonal and Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School. He was the Director of Plastic Surgery Unit in “A.Syggros” Hospital and Consultant Plastic Surgery in “Laiko” General Hospital in Athens as well as Chief of Plastic Surgery Unit, Athens University School of Medicine Thriasio Hospital, Latsio Burn Center (2009-2014). He has special interest in soft tissue and skin cancer. He completed his Residency in Maxillo-facial Surgery, (Pitier-Salpetiere Hospital, Paris 1977-1982) and in Plastic Surgery, St. Luis Hospital, Paris (1975-1979). Moreover, he was a fellow in Microsurgery and Clinical Assistant in Plastic Surgery at St. Vincent Hospital, Melbourne from 1980-1982. He holds a PhD from Athens University School of Medicine. He has published over 115 papers in journals cited in Pub-Med with more than 1000 citations. He has authored the Medical Textbook: ‘Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery’, edited in1997, honored by the Hellenic Academy of Science and co-authored in many other Medical Textbooks. He speaks English and French fluently besides his native Greek language. He has a good understanding and excellent oral skills in the Turkish language. He is a member to a number of Societies like the Hellenic and French Society of Plastic Surgery,EURAPS and was National Delegate in EBOPRAS. Furthermore, he is member of the International Microsurgery Society (WSRM) and founding member of the Hellenic Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery. He is a keen sailor and winter sportsman.
