Dr. Suresh Giri (MVSc., PhD.) is Group Leader in the Dept. of Pharmacology & Toxicology at Zydus Research Centre (ZRC), Ahmedabad, India. He accomplished his PhD. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai and he received research training from University of Michigan (USA). Scientifically, He has been always interested in developing novel drugs for the treatment diabetes and dyslipidemia and he was the key person responsible for the discovery & development of Saroglitazar, the first novel drug from an Indian Pharmaceutical Industry and also the first approved 'Glitazar' class drug in the world. He has been also interested in developing novel therapeutic vaccines and worked on animal models for drug screening and efficacy evaluation. He has outstanding records of scientific and academic accomplishments numerous publications in highly prestigious journals and various presentations in both national and international conferences.
