Dr. Svetoslav Slavov (Ph.D.) is a researcher in clinical and diagnostic virology at the Blood Center of Ribeirao Preto, Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirao Preto, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He accomplished his Ph.D. in medical virology from the National Center of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, Ministry of Health of Bulgaria and he received postdoctoral training in transfusion-transmitted viral diseases at the Blood Center of Ribeirao Preto, University of São Paulo, Brazil. He has been interested in development of molecular diagnostic strategies for detection of classic and emerging viruses, molecular evolution of viral pathogens, emerging viruses in the tropical regions and transfusion-transmitted infectious diseases. He has various publications in the field of medical virology and transfusion-transmitted viral infections in prestigious journals and multiple presentations in national and international workshops and congresses.
