Dr. Stefano Gitto (MD, PhD) is a Research Fellow of Liver Unit, Sant'Orsola-Malpighi Hospital, University of Bologna, Italy. In 2011, he completed his PhD in Applied Physiology and Pathophysiology at University of Bologna with a thesis on hepatic stem cells. In August 2015, he made an Internship at the Gastroenterology Unit, Transplant Center of Valencia, Spain. From 2016, he is Specialist in Digestive Diseases with a Thesis on Liver Transplantation and Non-Alcoholic Steatosis. He is author of more than 40 publications on hepatology and he has a personal h-index of 11 (source: Scopus).
