Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma joined G.R. Medical College, Gwalior in year 1999. He was given the Merit award in Obstetrics and gynecology in final MBBS examination in 2004. He graduated in year 2005. Subsequently he joined the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College and associated Lok Nayak Hospital, New Delhi as a postgraduate in pediatrics in same year. Maulana Azad Medical College is a premier institute affiliated to the Delhi University. He pursued research in bone mineral metabolism in children which was published in a reputed journal. After completing his post-graduation, he joined as senior registrar in 2008 at the same institution. During this period, he handled all major pediatric subspecialty like neonatology, neurology, endocrinology, genetics, respiratory medicine and intensive care. He developed special interest in the field of pediatric intensive care and for fulfilling the objective he joined as a fellow in pediatric critical care at B L Kapur super specialty hospital, New Delhi in 2011. After working for 3 years he established a Pediatric Critical Care Unit at Sri Balaji Action Medical Institute, New Delhi. This hospital is one of leading medical institution in North India. The unit has successfully managed more than 1800 critical children during past 2 ½ years.
He has been actively involved in academics and research. He has authored many chapters in books and has more than 15 research publications in national and international journals. Currently he is conducting two major studies on vitamin D and rational antibiotic usages in pediatric intensive care.
