Dr. Xiupei Yang (MD., PhD.) is full Professor of Analytical Chemistry in College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Chemical Synthesis and Pollution Control Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province at China West Normal University, Nanchong, China. He accomplished his Ph.D and MD. in Analytical Chemistry from Sichuan University (China), and he received pharmaceutical, environmental and biological analysis research training as postdoctor from Hongkong Baptist University (China). He is an analytical chemist working as a principal scientist and team leader for the pollution control laboratory. Dr. Yang's personal research interests are the analytical aspects (chromatography and spectroscopy) related to the detection of heavy metal and organic pollutants as well as their environmental fate and toxicological effects. This includes skills in: the use of specialist analytical techniques and instrumentation such as ICP-MS, GC, GC-MS, HPLC, LC-MS and CE; method development; toxicology. He has been heavily involved in developing novel analytical methods to evaluate and monitor the toxic pollutants in environmental, food and biological samples. Up to now, he has published more than 100 refereed Journal and conference papers, of which more than 30 papers cited by SCI, and he has also been granted 7 licensed China invent patents.
