José F. Bartolomé is Scientist at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Spain. Dr. Bartolomé received his B.S. in geology in 1992 from the Complutense University of Madrid and Ph.D. in chemistry from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 1997. He has worked as visiting researcher at the Queen Mary, University of London (UK), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, University of California (USA) and INSA Lyon (France). He has obtained 22 grants, published more than 70 papers in international scientific journals indexed in the Web of Science or Scopus with 1321 total citations and h-index: 21 (Scopus). In his career he was invited to about 20 international conferences. He has trained (or still trains) 7 Ph.D students.
His current research interests include micro and nano scale tailoring of bioceramic and ceramic-metal biocomposites for dental applications, focusing on microstructure-processing-properties relations.
