Biography

Dr. Tapas Kumar Sar obtained M.V.Sc and Ph.D. in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology from West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata, India in 2000 and 2004, respectively. He qualified National Eligibility Test conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research in 2002 in Veterinary Pharmacology. He received Young Scientist Award in National Conference of Indian Society of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology held at Gujarat in the same year. He was also awarded International Travel Grant by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to present research paper in 4th World Congress on Bioavailability and Bioequivalence, Beijing, China in 2013. He was a recipient of Best oral presentation award for faculty members in State Indian Pharmacological Society held at Kolkata. He has published research papers in 27 international and 15 national journals. He has presented research papers in 30 national and 8 international conferences. He has also written 8 popular articles in different magazines,1 book as co-author and 2 chapters in a Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology book. He first time identified 2 metabolites namely Triclopyr acid and Trichloropyridinol of an herbicide i.e. Triclopyr Butotyl ester in goats which has been published in Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. He first time identified a major active metabolite (Ceftizoxime) from Ceftriaxone in ruminants and published many research papers in high impact factor international journals. He has conducted some good research works on drug herb interactions and development of supportive therapies for different animal diseases.
