Biography

Dr Mosab Arafat from New Zealand is a licensed pharmacist who obtained his Doctoral Degree (PhD) in nanomedicines from School of Pharmacy, University of Otago, New Zealand. He is Author of over 34 research papers and presentations on nano-drug delivery systems and colloidal dosage forms. His research work interests involved the application of nanotechnology on oral drug delivery system (liposomes, niosomes, transfersomes and bilosomes) to enhance intestinal permeability, oral bioavailability and pharmacokinesics parameters of BCS Class II and III drugs and to develop and characterize a nanoformulation of a protein like drug molecules such as insulin for oral administration. He has developed, improved and formulated a novel oral nanoformulation for BCS Class III drug using 200 nm liposomes like particles. He succeeded to increase the intestinal absorption of cefotaxime (BCS Class III drug) from 1 to 20 times after been given to rats by mouth instead of injection. He has moved to UAE and currently he is working as a Faculty Member at the College of Pharmacy. He was invited as a research visitor for a number of Universities including: The University of Tokyo, The University of Warwick and University of Strathclyde. He is also working very closely with many pharmaceutical industries and provided consultancy services to them.
